Hayden has asked me to work on a little thing with her for a friend, and then suddenly, the idea blossomed into something totally potentially awesome.
A blog, entirely about my adventures with food. Oh yes, its been done, ever so many times (and then a few) but this one will be mine, all mine.
Right now I'm about 3 months pregnant and the cravings have indeed started. Indeed. A few days ago it was a salad with rice mixed in. Odd perhaps but tasty nonetheless and something I'd eat pregnant or not.
Tonight I had a craving brought on by a friend, Taylor, for some good Indian food. We ended up ordering in from a newly discovered restaurant (new to us, I'm sure they have a very dedicated amount of customers) called Daawat (sometimes spelled Dawat). While the food was not THE best I've had, it definitely satisfied my cravings, and I will have the left overs tomorrow (and will hopefully take pictures).
So my goal for this blog is for me to chronicle the new flavours and foods and ways of cooking that I experiment with. Taylor is vegan, and I think its cool, but probably not something I can do...yet at least. We do however like to sample new ways of cooking, and tofu is not an abnormality in our house (I consider this a good thing). Having an almost 3 year old added to the mix does mean that sometimes our meals are not quite as yummy or sophisticated as we'd like. Hopefully this will change as I find motivation and suggestions around to try new things.
Please please take the time to suggest recipes - especially ones that might be considered kid-friendly - and I'll try to take the time to cook, or have them cooked (raw meat right now is not too pleasant for me....something I hope will go away soon).
I'm trying to think of a catchy way to sign off posts...any ideas?
